Transparency
When residents have difficulty discerning where their elected representatives stand on the issues, it can breed malcontent and confusion that hurts the working relationship between Commissioners and Residents.
Abby’s Solutions:
1. Abby will work with Town staff to create a new spreadsheet or table on the Town’s webpage for the Board of Commissioners. This spreadsheet will detail current and former commissioners’ votes for easy viewing at a glance.
2. Abby will endeavor to make sure residents are aware of all Town public outreaches and changes to the UDO.
3. Abby will work to bring back video format submissions for Public Comment during Board of Commissioner meetings.
4. With the new Public Comment policy, electronic media must be submitted by 3:00 PM the Friday before the meeting, but the Agenda announcements are only issued around Thursday. Therefore, Abby will work with Town staff so that agenda announcements are issued at least 1 week before the meeting, to give residents reasonable time to formulate, refine, and submit electronic media.
